Embedding and Documenting Impacts in Interdisciplinary Research

Join us in person for a hands-on session where we'll dive into how to embed impacts seamlessly into your interdisciplinary projects. It is an internal event open for all BCU staff and doctoral researchers. Whether you're a seasoned researcher or just curious, discover cool ways to document your work's influence across fields and make your results speak louder. Letβs learn together and boost the real-world value of your research! Although the focus in on urban futures, the knowledge could apply to wider disciplines and fields.
We are delighted to have Prof Jian Kang from UCL devlivering this session for us. Professor Jian Kang, FREng, MAE, IMCAE, FIOA, FASA, DFIIAV, CEng, has been a full professor since 2003. He is President of the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), and he also chairs the European Acoustics Association Technical Committee for Noise, and the EU COST Action on Soundscape of European Cities and Landscapes. He was awarded IOA Rayleigh Medal 2022, Tyndall Medal 2008 and Peter Lord Award 2014; NAS Lifetime Achievement Award 2014; and CIBSE Napier Shaw Bronze Medal 2013. He is Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering, a Member of Academia Europaea -The Academy of Europe, and an International Member (Academician) of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
The event is funded by BCU's Enhancing Research Culture Award, co-orgaised by multiple research clusters and centres including Urban Cultures, Life Worlds, Sustainability in Designed Environments, Centre for Social Care, Health and Related Research. It is endorsed by RAAD and ABE RED programme.
