Join author and historian, Wendy Long Stanley at Christ Church for a captivating on Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson, a brilliant and courageous woman who defied convention in colonial America.

6:00 PM Welcome and Refreshments: The evening will begin in the Church's North Garden with light drinks and self-guided tours of Christ Church. This presentation is open to all, but registration is required. We appreciate any donations to support our work. This is an opportunity to explore both the interior of a national landmark, the exterior gardens and yards around it, and Elizabeth's grave.

6:30 PM Presentation: Wendy will share her research on Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson, providing a perspective on a tumultuous period in American history. Learn how this influential Philadelphian woman navigated the complex social and political landscape, ultimately leaving behind a legacy of strength and independence. This event is a must-attend for history enthusiasts and anyone interested in the stories of women in colonial Philadelphia.

7:30 PM- 8:00 PM Book Signing and Purchasing: Meet the speaker, purchase a copy of her book, and have it personally signed.


The Author:

Wendy Long Stanley is a historian who writes about women in Philadelphia during the time of the American revolution. Her first novel, The Power to Deny, about the life of Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson of Graeme Park, won a 1st Place Blue Ribbon Award in the Chanticleer International Book Awards for post-1750s historical fiction. In addition to writing fiction, Wendy is an APT-certified tour guide in Old City, Philadelphia. She holds an M.A. in public history and a B.A. in English literature.
