About this Event
Song to My Heroes is a program of original compositions by Elio Villafranca honoring the artists who profoundly shaped his musical voice. Through these works, Villafranca pays tribute to legendary figures in jazz, including Horace Silver, Thelonious Monk, Emiliano Salvador, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans, Cedar Walton, and Charlie Haden.
Rather than imitating their styles, these compositions capture the spirit, imagination, and artistic courage that defined their music. Song to My Heroes celebrates the living lineage of jazz, honoring the masters while continuing the conversation through new creative voices.
