About this Event
This Eid al-Adha, The Jerusalem Fund is opening its doors for another community souk in the heart of Washington, DC.
Join us on Saturday, May 30, from 12:00 to 5:00 PM, for an afternoon of Palestinian and regional culture, shopping, food, coffee, books, art, henna, and community.
Visitors will be able to browse handmade goods, glassware, books, prints, jewelry, textiles, kufiyas, soaps, Palestinian olive oil, coffee, food, and other gifts from local vendors, artists, writers, makers, and friends of The Jerusalem Fund.
Our Eid al-Adha Souk will include:
🗝️ The Jerusalem Fund table, with books, prints, kufiyas, handmade soaps, wellness creams and perfumes by Dr. Rajai Khoury, Palestinian olive oil, and other items
🩺 A special fundraising table organized by Jerusalem Fund volunteers, with handmade goods, glassware, jewelry, prints, textiles, rare books, and more, benefiting the Palestine Diabetes Institute
🎨 Nihad Dukhan, with original Arabic calligraphy pieces and prints
🧵 Kana’an Collective, with tatreez artist Zaynab Alsharif
🍽️ Lulu’s Kitchen, with Lubna Ghanayem
☕ Qahwaji, serving coffee
🧣 City Keffiyeh, with colorful kufiyas representing different Palestinian cities and their unique cultural traditions
📚 Dr. Basem Garada, with his books
📖 Middle East Books & More, with store items including olive oil, porcelain, and books

✍️ Book signing and conversations with Dr. Edmund Ghareeb for Enemy of the Sun: Poetry of Palestinian Resistance, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM

A special part of the souk will support the Palestine Diabetes Institute, one of The Jerusalem Fund’s Humanitarian Link programs serving Palestinians through clinics in the West Bank.
Come shop for Eid gifts, support the Palestine Diabetes Institute and local vendors, meet community members, and spend part of your Saturday in a space dedicated to Palestine, culture, and humanitarian care.
Admission is free, but registration helps us plan.
