About this Event

This presentation, Effectively Mentor and Support People Living with Long covid &ME/CFS, is aimed at professionals & students who are interested in the areas of mental health, health & social care, Counselling/ mentoring, and supporting communities:

  • Are you supporting clients with long Covid/CFS or as a degree student in your community role?
  • Are you looking for CPD opportunities working with clients with hidden disabilities and chronic fatigue?
  • Do you want to gain more clarity and understand how to support people living with Long Covid &ME/CFS?

This one-hour interactive presentation introduces an “expert by experience” perspective on helping clients suffering from chronic, lingering symptoms caused by post-viral infection. It can be difficult for others to understand how much this can impact someone's daily life.

As professionals and students, it is crucial to listen to patients experiencing persistent symptoms and provide appropriate support and guidance to help individuals manage their condition. Understanding the conditions can be an essential first step in supporting those affected.

Join Brain Health Breakthrough CIC in this informative training to gain insight into the most up-to-date information, inform your practice, and help raise awareness about the lasting effects of Long Covid &ME/CFS.

The workshop costs a small amount; however, all proceeds fund our core costs, allowing us to continue growing and developing our community and supporting people with chronic illnesses.

A bit about Brain Health Breakthrough CIC:

We are a community interest company supporting people with Long Covid & Brain Injury since 2019 and are pioneers in delivering practical peer support. We are ‘Hyndburn Community Champions’. Our founder, Karen Haworth, won the Women in Social Enterprise award in November 2021 for Brain Health Breakthrough CIC's support to the community throughout the pandemic. We also developed and delivered training for Blackburn with Darwen Council to help them set up their peer support group.

We are all experts by experience and offer bespoke consultation advice for any organisation that needs guidance from people who have experienced long-term invisible disabilities. We champion a transformational culture within our organisation, putting our purpose, people, and values at the heart of our flexible working model.

We work together to champion disability, talent, diversity, and equality.
