About this Event
Step into the fascinating world of wartime America as we explore the lives of Beatrice Patton, wife of General George S. Patton, and her enduring relationships with First Ladies Eleanor Roosevelt and Mamie Eisenhower. Both wives of high-ranking officers, Mrs. Patton and Mrs. Eisenhower were tasked with navigating a world of diplomacy, duty, and patriotism that extended well beyond their marriages. In this riveting lecture led by independent scholar Stefanie Van Steelandt, we uncover the remarkable friendship between Beatrice Patton, and both Eleanor Roosevelt and Mamie Eisenhower as they adapted to the demands of WWII. Through rich historical storytelling, learn how these women forged connections with each other and with prominent figures of their time, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire.
