Discover how to transform your home landscape with native plant expert Shawn Jalbert
About this Event

Discover how to transform your home landscape into a vibrant, resilient, and ecologically valuable habitat using native plants. Led by native plant expert Shawn Jalbert and set within the inspiring grounds of Bedrock Gardens, this workshop blends practical design guidance with ecological insight to help you create a yard that is both beautiful and beneficial to wildlife of all types. We will explore the gardens to see native plants up close, learn how to translate those ideas into your own yards, and leave with the confidence to begin or continue on your own native plant journey. You will leave with the inspiration, practical tools, and a fresh way of seeing your landscape.

About the Teacher

Shawn Jalbert, owner of Native Haunts Plant Nursery and Consulting in Alfred, ME, is passionate about growing native plants and sharing his knowledge of their critical importance. For the last 25 years Shawn has been educating the public about the value of native plant ecology through site consultations, and lectures/classes to garden groups and environmental organizations like Maine Audubon, Natural Resources Council of Maine, and Coastal Maine Botanical Garden. Shawn works with the Maine Lakes program to design and implement lakeside vegetation buffers to reduce erosion and increase water quality, working closely with homeowners. He has researched and presented detailed ecological assessments and action plans for native plant restoration projects on the Marginal Way in Ogunquit and Rogers Park in Kennebunk, ME.
