A vibrant new cultural event debuting this June - the East Grand Rapids Fine Art Fair, a juried outdoor fine art fair celebrating exceptional artistry in the heart of the Gaslight Village. Produced by The Guild of Artists & Artisans (The Guild) - producers of the world-renowned Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair - the fair will bring together a curated selection of accomplished artists from across the country for a weekend of creativity, community, and inspiration.Set against the charming backdrop of the Gaslight Village, known for its walkable streets and boutique atmosphere, the East Grand Rapids Fine Art Fair will feature around 100 artists with original works spanning a diverse range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, photography, fiber, and mixed media. Each artist is selected through a competitive jury process, ensuring a high-caliber experience for collectors and visitors alike. Artists will present work across a diverse range of price points, ensuring accessibility for both new and seasoned collectors.
“We’re thrilled to introduce a new fine art fair that reflects both the sophistication and warmth of the East Grand Rapids community,” said Karen Delhey, Executive Director of The Guild of Artists & Artisans. “The Gaslight Village provides an ideal setting—intimate, lively, and deeply supportive of the arts. We received numerous requests from both artists and community members to bring this event to the area and are delighted to see it come to fruition.”
The featured artwork for the inaugural event was created by Paul King (Painting; Ann Arbor, MI) - who recently shifted his focus from digital art to watercolor painting - completely transforming his body of work from digital drawings of iconic musicians to watercolor paintings of barns. Additionally, there will be other wonderful local and regional artists, including local Grand Rapids artist, Jeff Condon (Drawing; Grand Rapids, MI); and other exceptional artists including: Armando Pedroso (Mixed Media/Painting; Fennville, MI); Julie Billups (Jewelry; Ada,MI); Betsy Stecker (Printmaking; Royal Oak, MI), Dominique Hopf (Leather; Petoskey, MI); James Parker (Photography; Rochester, MI); Kerry Rolewicz (Drawing; Rockford, MI); and Tyler Voorhees (Mixed Media 2D; Fennville, MI). In addition to artist booths, attendees can expect live music, interactive experiences, and opportunities to engage directly with artists about their creative processes. Local restaurants and businesses will enhance the experience, offering visitors a chance to explore the neighborhood while enjoying the fair. Guests 21 and over can enjoy beverages from the area’s social district while strolling the streets, shopping, and taking in the fair. The East Grand Rapids Fine Art Fair is designed to appeal to seasoned collectors, first-time buyers, and anyone with an appreciation for handcrafted, original work. Admission is free and open to the public.
