The Toronto Baroque Players are an up-and-coming baroque chamber ensemble based in the GTA, offering audiences the chance to experience Baroque music like never before. With a core membership that includes traverso, baroque viola, viola da gamba, and harpsichord, they explore a vast array of repertoire from the 16th to the 18th centuries. As scholars, they are committed to sharing stories about music history through our programming, allowing listeners to fully appreciate live Baroque music. Their talented musicians have performed in prestigious period ensembles such as the Trinity Bach Project, Chilliwack Symphony Baroque Ensemble, and Theatre of Early Music. Since our formation in 2023, the Toronto Baroque Players have been actively performing across the city and were honored to be included in the 2024 Toronto Bach Festival.
This concert, exceptionally, will be situated at the east side altar in the main Cathedral space to accommodate the instruments and audience. Admission is pay-what-you-can (suggested donation of $20/$15) in support of this series and the arts at St. James Cathedral.
