About this Event

The first in-person Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYP MH) Early Career Researcher Event will take place on Wednesday 25 January, 2023, 2-6pm.

The event is aimed to showcase the excellent work on CYP MH conducted by early career researchers at UCL, as well as to facilitate connections and catalyse exchange of ideas and inter-disciplinary collaborations. It will include invited flash talks showcasing different methodological approaches, a poster session with the opportunity to receive a poster prize, and an informal reception.

We particularly encourage MSc and PhD students, those on practitioner doctorate courses, post-doctoral research fellows, clinical fellows and any other early career researchers with interest in CYP MH to attend.

The event is free and supported by the CYP MH Strategy Implementation Working Group. Register now to receive future updates on the speakers and programme, as well as to submit your poster abstract!

Registration

The event is open to everyone who identifies as an early career researcher interested in CYP MH within UCL and partner organisations.

Please click on "Reserve a spot" to complete your registration. To confirm authenticity of your registration, please indicate your primary work email (i.e., do not use gmail, hotmail, etc.).

Poster Abstract Submission (deadline: 23 December 2022, 11:59pm GMT)

All early career researchers at UCL are eligible to submit a poster abstract. Posters will be displayed during the event in the South Cloisters outside the lecture theatre.

There will be a prize for the best poster presentation. Shortlisted research posters submitted will be considered and judged on the day.

There will be a limited number of presentation slots available and, if the number of submissions exceeds the available slots, a selection process will be carried out. Please submit your poster by 23 December 2022, 11:59pm. You will be notified by 11 January 2023, if your poster has been accepted.

You can submit a poster abstract directly via the registration page, or by completing this form.

Survey

We have also created a very short (<5min) survey for everyone who identifies as an ECR in CYP MH at UCL, so we can understand how to best support you.

You can submit your responses to the survey directly via the registration page, or by completing this form before the event.

Getting to the venue

The easiest way to reach the lecture theatre is to enter through the main gates on Gower Street, opposite the Cruciform building.

The Wilkins Building will be directly in front of you. Head towards this building and turn right. ( do not climb the stairs). There will be a door way leading into the South Cloister building, where the poster session and reception will be. Take the second door which will be in the far right hand corner. Upon entering this door, turn right and walk through a second set of doors keeping to the right again. There will be a staircase in front of you with signs leading to the Gustave Tuck lecture theatre. Walk up the stairs, (two flights) and the lecture theatre will be on your right hand side.
