About the Facilitator
Nadine Lavoie discovered her calling 25 years ago while visiting a close friend in the hospital during his final days. Noticing other patients had no visitors, she felt compelled to offer companionship to those alone.
Balancing work and volunteering, Nadine brings comfort and love to patients, especially those nearing the end of life. Over time, she focuses on providing care and compassion to the dying, seeing herself as a “Special Flight Attendant” guiding them with love and kindness.
Today, her volunteer work remains one of her life's mission—ensuring the dying feel seen, heard, and valued before passing peacefully.
What is Different About this Death Café?
The difference about this Death Cafe is that it immerses participants in art and design focused on death and dying. This immersion will create a profound, full experience that goes beyond mere observation, allowing them to deeply engage with themes of mortality in a unique, transformative way.
