ABOUT THE READERS
CAROLYN HO is a Vietnamese American poet, artist, and mom. She’s a Kundiman fellow, recipient of the SF Foundation’s Phelan Award, Nomadic Press Award, and an SF Arts Commission grant recipient, among other mentionables. She’s folded 100K+ cranes over the past decade, but the crane as a symbol is irrelevant and a byproduct of coping with: child-rearing, elderly-care, and poor life choices. SF Weekly coined her as one of several, “Best Writers Without a Book." Carolyn has an MFA/MA from SF State.
DANNY “DANDIGGITY” LE is a poet, arts advocate, and public librarian based out of San Jose, California. Since 2001, he has written and performed works that revolve around pop culture, the human condition, and his own first-generation Vietnamese-American upbringing. He has worked with lifestyle brands, design agencies, and artists locally and abroad. When he’s not busy paying the mortgage, he enjoys DJing art functions, designing zines and shirt graphics, and traveling to new countries.
FONG TRAN first started writing poetry in June Jordan’s “Poetry of the People” class at UC Berkeley, African American Studies Department. Influenced by his activism, Fong's writing aids in amplifying frequently silenced voices and is deeply entrenched in the values of social justice and intersections of community struggle. His work has been featured on Upworthy, TED, Angry Asian Man, Adbusters, Kollaboration, UC Davis Magazine, CultureStrike and more. Fong has performed at venues across the United States and internationally in Manila, Philippines.
TRUONG TRAN was born in Saigon, Vietnam. He is the author of eight books of poetry, including Four Letter Words (Apogee Press, 2008), Book of the Other: Small in Comparison (Kaya Press, 2021) which won the American Book Award, and Looking and Seeing (Omnidawn, 2025), which he co-authored with Damon Potter. He has won numerous awards, grants, and fellowships. Truong lives in San Francisco and teaches at Northeastern University (previously Mills College) in Oakland, California.
