See these films (for the first time or the thousandth) in a once-in-a-lifetime audience experience with a bunch of PEOPLE EXACTLY AS MUSICAL THEATRE BRAIN-BUSTED AS YOU in one of Dumpster Raccoon’s legendary (and internationally celebrated) singalong events!
FIRST: We attend the hallowed halls and vine-draped walls of SHIZ and resist the creeping RISE OF FASCISM in WICKED! ELPHABA THROPP (Cynthia Arivo) has always been different, has always stood out and apart. But all of that changes when she delivers her much-beloved sister to university and gains the attention of Shiz professor MADAME MORRIBLE (Michelle Yeoh) and ultra-popular student GLINDA UPLAND (Ariana Grande) – not to mention Shiz’s handsome new transfer student, Prince FIYERO TIGELAAR (Jonathan Bailey)! Will her mysterious magical powers prove at last to be a blessing and not a curse? Will she win an audience with the all-powerful WIZARD OF OZ (Jeff Goldblum)? Will she finally find a cure for her green skin? Or are the rising currents of fear and xenophobia in Oz a warning that all is not as it seems behind the curtains of power?
THEN: We rejoin Elphaba amidst her guerilla campaign against the Wizard’s regime – exhausted, depleted, waging a war both of manpower and propaganda and losing badly. Her only hope may be her lost friend Glinda – now installed at the heart of the Emerald City’s PR machine as its shining star and half of its greatest power couple (with a glossy but disenchanted Prince Fiyero), but increasingly seeing the cracks in the perfect bubble she’s built for herself. But what can two women do against the great and powerful Oz?
