On August 24th, DSMEE will be hosting its annual open day. Free rides on miniature railway for all ages, and an opportunity to visit the workshop and facilities of the Dublin Society of Model and Experimental Engineers. This year DSMEE is celebrating 124 years of its existence, making it the second oldest model engineering society in the world. A number of locomotives, including steam engines built by members, will be in operation or on displayOur open day on 24 August is the only day of the year where we give train rides to adult members of the public. DSMEE is a blend of miniature engineering, maker-space and men's shed and is always open to new members. The open day is an opportunity for members of the public to see what we get up to and see if it something they would like to get involved in. The entrance to the Society's site is at ///quarrel.ozone.obey
