DCYEP is a six-week paid summer intensive designed to provide District youth ages 18-24 with the tools, mentorship, and real-world work experience needed to launch and grow a business. DCYEP equips participants with entrepreneurship and early career readiness skills. Participants are required to attend all business development training sessions during the program (June-August) and participate in a culminating pitch competition to receive up to $2,500 in funding to launch or scale their business ventures.
This program is managed by the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) as part of the Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) funded in partnership by the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES). To learn more, visit: dslbd.dc.gov/DCYEP
