A seasonal series of art workshops at Out of the Blue Drill Hall, Dalmeny Street, celebrating the coming Spring. All materials provided.

6 workshops, each 2 and a half hours
Thursday 26th March to Thursday 30th April 2026
Evening class: 6pm - 8.30pm
All materials provided.

These workshops will guide you through a variety of different drawing techniques, in pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastel, pen, printmaking, ink, gouache, watercolour and collage. Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists alike, you'll be introduced to a variety of mark-making techniques in a fun and pressure-free environment. We will explore artistic representations of Spring across cultures and throughout history, and how they might influence your work.

The schedule of workshops is:

Thursday 26th March: Form and shape, pencils and charcoal
Thursday 2nd April: Light and dark, inks and pens
Thursday 9th April: Colour, paints and printing
Thursday 16th April: Observation and composition, pastels and coloured pencils
Thursday 23rd April: Self expression, collage

Thursday 30th April: Bringing skills together to realise an artwork, mixed media.

Class sizes are small to ensure you get a personalised experience.

Each workshop will have a different Spring-based theme and will use different materials. Each workshop will be a stand-alone event and will assume no prior knowledge or experience.

There is zero pressure in these workshops, and the main objective is to have fun.

With any art materials, there is always a risk of getting marks on your clothes, so please don’t wear your best crisp white shirt or anything you would be upset to get dirty.

Cancellation Policy
If you book a class, and you find you cannot attend for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible. Here are my policies:

1. All cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged in full with no refunds given.

2. Cancellations made less than 72 hours beforehand will be subject to a £10 admin fee.

3. No-shows will not be refunded.

4. If you make a block booking, no refunds will be given on individual dates that you can't attend.

5. If you cannot attend a class, you may be able to swap to a different class, but that is at the workshop leader's discretion and is subject to availability. Swapping to a different class is not guaranteed, but I will try to be as flexible as I can.

If you realise you won't be able to attend, the best thing to do is to get in touch, and give me as much notice as possible so that I can work out an alternative. I love teaching people, and sharing art with them, and want to do all I can to get people making art.
