PRE-REQUISITE: Students must have completed Advanced Scenes 1 and been encouraged to move on to Advanced Scenes 2.

When we’re making fancy bread, we proof it twice. You shape it, you let it prove, you knock it back, and you let it prove again—and that second rise is where the magic happens. Double Proof is built on that exact idea: a two-week intensive where you do lots of improv, get real feedback, go away and let it settle, and then come back and have reps and a show to apply that feedback.
Led by (former!) Blind Tiger Comedy Artistic Director Tom Hill, this course is designed as an evolution of the Annoyance-style week-long intensive (and our own Kaleidoscope Intensive), but with a schedule that doesn’t necessarily require you to quit your job. You will walk away with impactful new skills, two substantial feedback sessions with Tom, two chances to apply your learning on stage (including a chance to try Kevin and Tom’s format Time Of Your Life), and a chance to apply your learnings to what’s happening in a professional show.

Tuesday, July 21 - 1:00-4:30pm - Doing Your Part - loading scene starts with rich offers from all involved.
Wednesday, July 22 - 1:00-4:30pm - Find Our Funny - spring from strong scene starts to hilarious, layered scenes
Wednesday, July 22 - 7pm - SHOW - show off what you’ve learned in a showcase while you’re good and warmed up
Thursday, July 23 - afternoon time TBD - Online Feedback - chat directly with Tom in a 15-minute zoom call organized around your schedule about your comedy in week one
Friday, July 24 - 730pm - Time Of Your Life - the whole group will check out TOYL at LMG and see the application of what you’ve been studying. Field trip!
Tuesday, July 28 1:00-4:30pm - Being Your Funniest Self - we will focus on synthesizing your feedback from week 1 and working with personal stories for comedy’s sake.
Wednesday, July 29, 1:00-4:30pm - Show Prep - We’ll dig into this new format and get ready for our show!
Wednesday, July 29 - 7pm - Your Time of Your Life - our ensemble does our own take on Time Of Your Life as part of a BTC student showcase
Thursday, July 30 - 10:00- 12pm - In-Person Feedback, Wrap - a second round of feedback with Tom plus consolidating everything we’ve learned as a group.
All told, this is a schedule designed to work directly with you to address blocks and get you reps in class and on stage to move through them. Along the way, you’ll get tight with your group and a chance to perform a very special (to us) format. Let’s cook!

- This class is for folks ages 18+
- This class has a pre-requisite of Advanced Scenes 1
Venue Accessibility - The venue is accessible from the street level with no steps up – the main door has a significant lip, but the side door (which will be unlocked for classes) is level to the sidewalk. Click here for more info!
Show Day Information - Wondering when your shows are? 95% of BTC shows are on Wednesday nights at 7PM or 9PM. Your exact show schedule will be sent out the week of your first class!
Refunds & Cancellations – a 100% refund is available up to two weeks before your class begins. Within two weeks of the class start, registration is non-refundable.
