Join us as we take a stand against domestic violence with a powerful walk and run event to raise awareness and support survivors.
About this Event
  • The Illinois Domestic Violence Hotline received 59,704 contacts in 2024, a 26% increase from 2023 and a 140% increase from 2019.
  • In 2024, the Hotline received 18,940 requests for shelter across Illinois, a 5% increase since 2023 and 112% increase since 2019.
  • The demand for affordable and transitional housing also skyrocketed, with 2,325 requests for such housing in 2024, a 77% increase from 2023 and a staggering 383% increase from pre-pandemic 2019.

The Domestic Violence Awareness Walk & Run brings our community together to honor survivors, remember those lost, and raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence. This powerful event promotes healing, education, and unity while supporting programs that provide safety, hope, and resources for individuals and families affected by abuse.

Universal Family Connection's Domestic Violence Program provides education, support, and accountability to help individuals build healthier relationships, break cycles of abuse, and promote safety and respect within families and communities.


I understand that participating in the Universal Family Connection, Domestic Violence Awareness Walk & Run can potentially be a hazardous activity presenting risk. For consideration of participation in the event, I freely accept and voluntarily assume the risks of personal injury or property damage that may result.

I, and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on my part. I agree to hold harmless UFC, corporate sponsors, volunteers, cooperating organizations and all parties connected with this event of injury or illness while participating and give permission to use my name and photos and videos taken of me during the event in promotional materials, publications or websites.

I understand that Universal Family Connection, Inc. reserves the right to dismiss anyone that may cause disturbance or otherwise jeopardize the safety of him/herself, participants, volunteers or staff.

I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE AND THAT I UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF ITS INTENT.
