About this Event

Discovering Valentines Mansion and Stanislaw Brustein's Art

Join us for an exciting in-person event where you’ll explore the fascinating history of Valentines Mansion and uncover the art of and stories about Stanislaw Brustein. It’s a great chance to dive into some local heritage and meet others who love history and art as much as you do. Don’t miss out on this unique experience!

We will meet at West Acton station at 11 am to take the after 11.15 Central Line train to Gants Hill station.

If more conevenient, you can instead join us at the Gardener's Cottage Café (Emerson Rd, Ilford IG1 4XA) at 1pm for a chill and chat over their fare.

Then we will go to see Valentines Mansion and an exhibition of Stanislav Brunstein's works on display there now.

Next, we will take a walk through Valentines Park and may have another stop at Valentines Café (Valentines Park, Ilford IG1 4SB) before returning to Gants Hill station.

It is a very last minute offer as we think it is important to see this exhibition of paintings created by a man who had to process a lot of trauma and who lost his family in the Holocaust. To read more about him, try this link from the Ben Uri Gallery

Get your £7 ticket here (Eventbrite fee included) or £10 cash on the day.

A few more practical details

Our walks are as much about sharing what we know and making new connections as they are about learning about the places we visit, the topics we explore, and the people we meet along the way.

Photos may be taken during the walk, and short sections may occasionally be recorded for documentation and sharing. Please let us know if you prefer not to be included.

You take part in our events at your own risk. We carefully plan and assess routes in advance, but as this is a walking tour, please wear suitable footwear and clothing, and take extra care on sections with uneven surfaces.

If you’re no longer able to attend, please cancel your ticket or let us know, so we can offer the place to someone else.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us in advance, and please check your inbox before the walk for any final practical updates.

You can find Talking and Exploring online (website, Facebook, Instagram, Google) and join our fan page - the Ealing Walking, Talking and Exploring Group - to see and share photos, posts, comments, and reviews.

If you’d like to arrange a bespoke walk for your group, or to sponsor a walk led by us, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
