About this Event

DISCOVERIES Series IV Showcases Future Stars Performing in Recital.

Lord Leighton welcomed leading musicians of the day to perform in his studio, and for musicians of the future who play in this beautiful venue, it is very special for them too.

The Leighton House DISCOVERIES Series returns with recitals which include four solo pianists, a classical guitarist, and superb chamber players.

There are seven recitals in total; three in autumn 2025, with a further four in spring/summer 2026. Each recital is of approximately one hour's duration without an interval, starting at 7.00pm. Seating is unallocated.

Programme:

Bach: French Suite No. 4 in E-flat major, BWV 815

Beethoven: Piano Sonata Op. 81a

Brahms: Piano Sonata No. 2

Shanghai-born pianist Jiaxin Min gained international acclaim as a laureate of the 2025 Queen Elisabeth Competition, where her poetic performances captivated audiences and critics alike.

A graduate of the Royal College of Music under Dmitri Alexeev and Vitaly Pisarenko, she previously earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School studying with Sergei Babayan and Matti Raekallio.

Winner of numerous international prizes—including the Steinway International Piano Competition and e-Piano International Competition—Jiaxin has performed at major venues and festivals across Europe, Asia, and the United States, establishing herself as one of the most promising pianists of her generation.
