This 1814-1815 battle which took place after the peace had been signed ending the War of 1812 has ranked high in our American history lessons. Bob Reed, a retired award-winning writer, educator, journalist, photographer and advertising film maker will discuss the battle from the viewpoint of how this battle if often misaligned in its importance in the building of America. Bob graduated from Firestone High, Kent State with a BS in Journalism and Ball State with an MA in Journalism.The Akron Torch Club is an organization of professionals and professionally minded people who meet to dine, then listen to and discuss a talk. Torch Club meets the fourth Wednesday of most months at 6 p.m., costs $38 and is open to guests.
