Dina Martina's shows are "fantastically surreal", “magically warped” & "utter genius"! Her latest, Chariots of Failure, is one of her best!
About this Event

Tragic singer, horrible dancer and surreal raconteur, the hysterically funny Dina Martina materialized at Seattle’s Center on Contemporary Art in January 1989, immediately being dubbed "fantastically surreal", “magically warped” and "utter genius". She's since gone on to dazzle audiences at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, Soho Theatre in London’s West End, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Her collection of ardent fans includes John Waters, Jennifer Coolidge, Tony Kushner, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Idle, Bette Midler, Graham Norton, Parker Posey, and many more.

Absolutely packed with ludicrous song, ridiculous stories and overburdened costumes, Dina Martina's shows are impossible to adequately describe, other than that they've become synonymous with jaw-dropping pathos and mind-blowing comedy. Dina Martina has been hailed as "divinely funny" (Time Out London), "painfully funny" (Seattle Times), and "the most original drag performer working in America today" (Michael Musto, Village Voice). What a Dina Martina show is, quite simply put, is a smart and hilarious evening you will never forget.

Miss Martina has shared the bill with artists such as Margaret Cho, Alan Cumming, Justin Vivian Bond, and Bridget Everett. She received The Stranger Genius Award for Theater as well as two Seattle Times Footlight Awards, and received nominations for The Alpert Award for Theater and GLAAD Media Awards (twice) for Outstanding Off-Off Broadway Show. She did not win those.

Dina Martina is featured alongside Stephen Sondheim, Twyla Tharp, Tony Kushner, Kara Walker and others, in Adam Moss' book, The Work of Art.
