About this Event

Deeply Rooted - A Photography Walk Series invites participants to explore Dix Park through a creative and historically significant lens. Join Raleigh Film and Arts Festival for a guided photowalk led by a local photography professional. Attendees will learn beginner‑friendly techniques for capturing landscapes, architecture, and nature while hearing curated historical highlights along the route. This 2.5 hour outdoor experience blends movement, mindfulness, and storytelling, offering a unique way to connect with the park’s past, present and future. Participants should plan on bringing comfortable shoes for the 2.5 mile walk, water and snacks, and a personal device for photography (smartphones, cameras - DSLR, mirrorless, or film). This program will begin and end at the Dix Park Visitor Center and will walk to explore various sites on campus.

Accessible temporary restrooms are located at the Big Field and Flowers Field. Indoor accessible restrooms are available at Gipson Play Plaza, under the Superintendent’s House at the Stone Houses and at the Chapel during hours of operation.

Accessibility
