The David Dower Trio (Melb) come to the Ellington Jazz Club to launch their newest album, SonderOriginally from Victoria, David graduated the Masters course at WAAPA in 2015. Since leaving, he has developed a relationship with Bulgaria, where he has toured 5 times, recorded 4 albums, played 5 festivals, appeared on TV twice, and has been interviewed on Bulgarian Jazz FM, and Bulgarian National Radio, both stations regularly playing his music.
David's original music takes his passions (jazz piano, alt-pop), and blends with them Bulgarian folk music. When in Bulgaria, David records his original songs with local Bulgarian singers and instrumentalists, leading to a unique collaboration and entirely fresh sound.
For this evening, Kizzy Davies (also a WAAPA graduate) will be singing the Bulgarian choral songs in Bulgarian! As well as performing some originals of her own with the band.
