About this Event
This 3-hour seminar proposes replacing the name – “artificial intelligence” (AI) – with “dark intelligence” to offset the presuppositions that appear to be belying (misrepresenting) the technology and correspond to a disregard of the originary (primordial) comprehension of being. The seminar (1) reduces AI and human intelligence to their basic meaning, (2) discerns the comprehension of being – the pre-thematic understanding of “is” and prerogative of human being – as the essential possibility of human intelligence, (3) identifies inconsistencies in the “artificial intelligence” sobriquet commensurate with a disregard, perhaps even forgottenness or abandonment, of that possibility, and (4) presents the case to replace the moniker to clarify the way AI is thought.
