We are proud to present our 1940’s Ball at Winchester Guildhall on D-DAY Saturday 6th June 2026.This event will have 3 dance floors from 8pm – 12am, 1940’s themed décor & you’ll be able to dance to two 1 hour sets from the 18 piece Apollo Big Band!
We’ve held a 1940’s Ball only twice before & they were arguably the best events DYD has ever put on! Do NOT miss this one!
Dance Floor 1 Bapsy (Main) Hall – Mainstream Pop, Chart, Club & Classics, other than when the Big Band is playing.
Dance Floor 2 King Charles Hall – Rock, Disco, Swing, Latin & Classics, but Mainstream mix of all Modern Jive music when the Big Band is playing.
Dance Floor 3 Wintonian Room – An alternative music mix from DJ Michelle.
Free Ice Creams at 10pm!
Licensed Bar – PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS ON THIS NIGHT!
1940’s Civilian/Allied Service Dress Encouraged, But Not Essential.
Tickets available here, or from any of our class nights or Freestyles, priced £22 in March & April, then £24 in May, or £26 in June & on the door (although this event could quite possible sell out before the night).

1940’s Ball night format…
7.45pm – Doors open.
8 – 12.00am – Non Stop Freestyle in 3 rooms.
Big Band sets in the main hall will be 8.30 – 9.30pm and also 10.15 – 11.15pm
12.00am – Close.

Winchester City Council now charge for evening parking in most city centre car parks – but it is still free to park in the Chesil St multi-storey car park SO23 0HU which is only a 5 minute stroll from the Guildhall.
