.•* Joro-Boro was born and raised in Bulgaria. After moving to New York City, he got offered a DJ residency at the Bulgarian Bar (Mehanata) alongside Eugene Hütz (Gogol Bordello). While there, he was one of the pioneers of the Balkan Brass and Balkan Beat music scenes in the United States. He then moved on to become a part of the Brooklyn Underground with crews like JunXion, Rubulad, and Thunder Gumbo. At this phase, Joro-Boro was playing and producing Global Bass and released remixes on If The Kids Records (Germany), Generation Bass Records (UK/Netherlands), Barbes Records (USA), and Vlad (France) among others.
Joro-Boro has toured with Anna Morgan, Balkan Beat Box, and Filastine and has performed with a wide range of artists, among whom are 2melo, Ana Sia, An-ten-nae, Beats Antique, David Starfire, DJ Shawna, DJ Spooky, Gogol Bordello, Govinda, Kaminanda, M-1 (Dead Prez), Maga Bo, Marty Party, MC Zulu, Method Man, Nosaj Thing, Omar Souleyman, Prefuse 73, Questlove, Talib Kweli, The Human Experience, Tinariwen, Uproot Andy, and Z-Trip . Joro-Boro currently play Earth Bass : an exploration of various musical traditions and the slow, sensual, and spacious side of bass music. I regularly play at Ecstatic Dance and similar conscious dance events. He is half of b e i n g - s o u n d - a ritual bass project with my partner Keena Maya. He is a part of Collective BAE.

The depths of Keena Maya's sound are incantations, drawing us down into our roots, grounding us into our bodies, and invoking the incandescent deity within us to rise. Guided by the rhythms of the Earth and Moon , she calls her sound BASS BLISS : a transmission for heart expansion via the dance floor. Music that is not just heard but felt. As an artist, DJ, instrumentalist, and mystic, she passionately creates intentional dance rituals. Embodiment over substances, to awaken towards our collective evolution. With her beloved Joro-Boro, she is half of the ritual bass project b e i n g - s o u n d . They perform live electronic/acoustic ritual bass, guide binaural bass meditations, and create immersive sound art & installations. Keena Maya is here to empower and uplift the creativity of others and does this through her work as a pillar of the Collective BAE, a feminine powered ecosystem and agency amplifying cross-cultural connection, collaboration, co-creation, and wellness for ALL. She is a resident DJ of the NYC Ecstatic Dance community and continues to spread her wings facilitating ecstatic dance journeys around the world. In 2023 she released her debut single 'A Deeper Calling' and is currently working on a few releases for 2024, including an EP with Natalia Clavier. Roots in Brooklyn and currently stewarding life between the Hudson Valley of New York and Bulgaria. Keena Maya is, so that we may become.

Corey Pugliese is a certified EFT practitioner and tantric facilitator. He's studied from various tantric teachers and relationship experts through the International school of temple arts, journey to secure series, and Sofiya School of living arts. He currently works as a sacred intimacy coach, hosts mens circles, and embodiment rituals.
“I offer an embodied shamanic journey from the void into life through a referential experience as a shamanic dragon. I incorporate sound breath movement and play to create a somatic point of reference in the body to link up to our inner power center and dragon energy. We stretch, we dance, we roar, we breathe fire, we fly, we play and burn away all that no longer serves us to see just how powerful we are when we are free”
I’ve done this a few times and most recently at BurningMan and the ISTA tribal gathering and the feedback I’ve received is just how powerful and enlivening the experience is. It’s also a place where dragons can connect with their fellow dragon tribe.

We are excited to share our collective Dance Medicine in this amazing community where consent, authentic communication, support & love rest at the foundation & core. In order to keep things safe in these uncertain times we ask that you take the necessary health precautions you feel called to take for yourself and respect the choice of others. (If you have felt sick, had a fever or cough, please do not attend.) Masks are welcome if that is appropriate for you, they will not be enforced.
Dance Medicine Philly is a drug & alcohol free event. We ask that there is no talking on the dance floor and no cameras used during the event. Please respect this as our intention is to offer folks a safe, supportive place to dance, move wiggle and wobble into full self expression.

Some things to consider bringing: Water bottle, yoga mat, something warm to cover with for the sound healing, acoustic instruments such as drums/rattles, fire and flow toys like hula hoops, juggling balls, and poi.
Come whenever you can arrive. If you need to come in late or leave early, this is ok. Kids of all ages are welcome too!!
