Damskov Quartet plays a melodic mixture of Nordic Jazz, Goove, Fusion and a hint of adventurous world-music.In the music you will find references pointing towards John Scofield and Lars Jansson, but also sounds leading towards Fela Kuti, Ibrahim Electric, Khruangbin and a remote mountain-landscape in Balkan.
The group primarily contains of Tue Damskov (Guitar, compositions), Benoit Birlouet (FR) (Keys), Georges Muschik (FR) (Double Bass) and Morten Ilsøe (Drums, percussion). The group plays original, instrumental tunes, and keeps a strict focus on groove, variation and melody, whilst still having room for catchy and experimenting solos.
Damskov Quartet has their debut EP´ “East River – Live” available on all platforms from November 15th.
