About this Event
“Privilege is not in and of itself bad; what matters is what we do with privilege.” ~bell hooks
It takes courage to confront the legacy of white supremacy; to not only acknowledge its imprint on all of our institutions, but to challenge it in dialogue and action. It requires a willingness to see the world as it truly is and to place yourself within it, acknowledging the ways that you are complicit in or victimized by it. True innovation and creative solutions are in the beauty and richness of diversity and difference. We must create environments where these differences can be honored and fully manifested, without them the fullness of possibility cannot be seen and the solutions for a sustainable and healthy future are never discovered. In this three-day institute, you will examine your positionality and the ways that it colors our perspectives, interactions and the systems that we design.
