About the Summit The CHEF Community Health Summit is a collaborative, solutions-focused gathering hosted by the San Antonio Food Bank's CHEF (Culinary Health Education for Families) program. Join us for a day of learning, connection, and action — exploring how schools, healthcare systems, and community organizations can work together to nourish families across our region.
Complimentary lunch and networking are included for all attendees. Beverages and snacks will be available throughout the day.
Choose Your Session — or Stay All Day! This summit is designed with two focused sessions. You're welcome to register for one or both.
🏫 Morning Session | 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM CHEF in Schools: Building Healthy Foundations for Lifelong Health Intended audience: School districts, public charter schools, child nutrition programs, educators, and youth-serving community organizations
Topics will include:
- Implementing a coordinated school health approach across departments
- Connecting classroom learning, school meals, and family engagement
- Engaging families and communities to support healthy behaviors at home
- Building sustainable partnerships between schools and community organizations
🍽️ Lunch + Networking | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Open to all registered attendees — morning, afternoon, or full day
🏥 Afternoon Session | 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM CHEF in Healthcare: Integrating Nutrition into Health Systems Intended audience: Healthcare partners, nutrition experts, public health professionals, and community health organizations
Topics will include:
- Data sharing, evaluation, and measuring health outcomes across partners
- Building referral pathways between healthcare providers and community nutrition programs
- Integrating nutrition education with chronic disease management
- Strategies for reaching high-risk populations and reducing health disparities
