CMC Presents : Crossover with Cope Land and Eunice Keitan

Join us for an unforgettable evening of Jazz fusion! Montreal-based Cope Land blends synthesizers and nu-metal aesthetics with the spontaneity of Jazz in a combination that is wholely unique. Toronto-based Eunice Keitan, on the other hand blends neo-soul with the multicultural aesthetics of her home country of Malaysia bringing the chinese guzheng to her unique Jazz vocal style.

-----

is a genre-bending band from Montreal, Canada, creating music that is exciting, original and varied. Led by guitarist Ben Copland Gilbert, this bilingual group fuses alternative and progressive rock with rap, jazz and metal, sounding powerful and virtuosic both in performance and on recordings. Improvisation gives way to cutting rap verses, only to be swept away by soaring vocals over heavy guitar riffs, leading to a music that often surprises. Available in several ensembles, combining a variable brass section with an ensemble of vocals, guitar, synthesizer, bass and drums, Cope Land always captivates with its driving rhythms, intensity, and dynamics. The band has been lucky enough to grace many Canadian festivals, most notably a main stage performance at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and Festival Vue sur la Relève. They just released their second album, “Expire”, on February 14, 2025. This album, more so rock music than ever before, is sung and rapped half in English, half in French.
