Learn to CrochetNext Steps Workshops
Date: 2nd MAY 2026

Time: 10am -4pm.
Max 6 participants
You will need to have completed the Beginners Learn to Crochet Class or be able to hold a crochet hook and yarn independently, be able to create a chain and understand how to create a single, double and treble stitch/ Granny square stitch.
During this class you will learn the following
* A range of new stitches that will build on those which you have previously learnt and how to combine them.
*to calculate how many chains you will need to begin a lap blanket or bigger.
*how to crochet in rows, change colour yarn, sewing in ends etc.
*basic crochet pattern/ instructions/ symbols
All of the above will be learnt as part of a stitch sampler.
You will need to bring
Double knitting (DK) wool in colours of your choice in at least two colours. Not too dark so that you can see the stitch patterns you are creating. Small balls left over from other projects you have made might be enough to bring along or wool can be purchased from Sew and Fabric. It needs to be Double Knit wool.
A crochet hook size 4mm or 5mm. (4.5mm will work too)
Small scissors.
Tape measure.
Notebook and pen.
Glasses if you wear them.
Tutor will bring
*some spare Small balls of double knit wool
*spare scissors to borrow
*wool sewing needles to borrow
* some crochet hooks in case you forget your own to borrow on the day.
*worksheets
*samples to view and discuss
* After class assistance if needed.
You will go home with:
*With a range of sample squares of different stitches.
*Worksheets
*knowledge on how to incorporate granny squares into your blanket.
*how to calculate your foundation chain
*crochet pattern symbols
* where to find additional information to refer to after the workshop
* the confidence to start your first bigger project and extend your crochet knowledge.
* 2 different options to start your blanket/ sampler.
* A started/ completed sampler or a start your blanket.
Before the class
Make up 4 separate Granny Squares in Double Knit Yarn, completing just 3 rounds in any colour combination that you want and bring them to the class. Knot the end of the yarn to secure but leave a good length tail of wool for sewing together in the class. Any questions please message me via my FB page at
