About this Event
Creatives House is hosting a launch party to share our mission: to hold safe space for artists of all backgrounds to create artistically ambitious work joyfully with creativity, knowledge, skill, and talent, to serve persons of Manchester, and beyond.
At the heart of our mission is a love-driven Artist Incubator. The evening will feature a showcase of excerpts from three artists currently on board the Artist Incubator who are making productions of live performing experiences that are inspired by Biblical literature and express truth, justice and wisdom.
Get a custom poem by The Coffeewriter or a portrait by Akinyemi Oludele at our pre-show launch party for free! There will also be delicious Ethio-Eritrean food from Love Community Café (add-on of £5 per meal) and house music by international DJ and founder of Our House Your House DJ Emma Ellis.
If you resonate with any of the following, we would sincerely love to see you there:
Artists, creatives, freelancers, producers, technical or graduating arts students from live performing (music, dance, drama, new writing, musical theatre), visual arts, multi-disciplinary and media practices who are in pursuit of excellence.
Why attend? We want to start a directory and organise a scratch night and 2 mini gatherings to share ideas, and to live into our mission to host a collaborative creating, making and producing space to make work in community.
Check out why we exist, our purpose, our values and 3 principles of making here:
City stakeholders, arts organisation producers and programmers, or Patrons and lovers of artistically ambitious work.
Why attend? As creative producers (all of whom are women from marginalised backgrounds) with specialisms in directing theatre/tv/radio, artist development, creative access, touring, and fundraising – we want to partner with you to cause there to be artistically excellent and values-driven productions of live performing and visual arts experiences that has transformative impact on the cultural lives of persons, audiences and visitors first in Manchester, and then beyond.
Check out our business plan and Grace’s pitch at Artistic Directors of the Future Agents of Change here:
Gospel workers and messengers or anyone curious to see the arts at the intersection of faith, beauty, and creativity.
Why attend? As artist Makoto Fujimura writes “Art has the capacity to challenge preset presumptions about what we believe, to operate in the gap between the church and the world, and to address deeply spiritual issues.” We believe that art can build communities, encourage discourse and transform lives.
We want to start a mailing list and through it would love for your participation, support, and encouragement as each of the three artists continue developing their work, each inspired by a book of the Bible. Find out more here:
