About this Event
Taught by knitwear designer Annalisa Dunn, who has over 15 years experience of crocheting show pieces for the London Fashion Week catwalk.
Learn how to use crochet to elevate / upcycle / and rework garments and fabrics. This workshop will be encouraging creativity and experimentation, offering a diverse range of materials to play with.
The workshop will take place inside The Stitch Archive, giving you access to a variety of luxury crochet samples and garments for inspiration and context.
You will work to produce your own set of samples to keep, using a variety of materials and techniques you may not have used before. This workshop is more focussed on experimentation and new ideas, rather then teaching traditional stitches.
Techniques taught:
How to work into a variety of fabrics using crochet to create 3D embroidery and surface texture.
How to use crochet to join fabrics together, and use crochet as a decorative seam.
How to play with materials, scale and contrast to create more interest and novelty.
You will be provided handouts to help you remember the session afterwards.
Materials to bring:
All materials and equipment will be provided, however you are invited to bring any design work / materials / equipment you’d like to experiment with.
Ideal for anyone looking to elevate their existing crochet skills, those looking to upcycle clothing, as well as those who wish to create unique designs with crochet and knit.
Different levels of ability will be catered for in this small class.
