About this Event
The goal of this event is to connect people who want to be more involved in their communities with Denver-based grassroots organizations that are doing just that. This event will take place on the heels of the presidential inauguration, and we hope that you will join us in creating hope rather than succumbing to despair.
At this catastrophic time in the history of our planet, we invite you to delve with us into the mess of creating collective power and being in the mud of joy and art, environmental justice, and organizing.
At this event, attendees can:
- Get to know a selection of grassroots organizations and what they do
- Find out how you can support their efforts in a sustainable way
- Participate in a workshop to learn more about mutual aid
- Learn some basics of visible mending with sewist and artist, Suprsaturated Designs
- Participate in a mutual aid clothing swap with The Clothing Cycle Shop
- Enjoy a paper-based craft activity with reuse artist, Mieliepop Creations
Admission is free. Donations are welcome (via the purchase of a ticket) and will go towards covering the cost of the venue, as well as compensating those who helped to make this event possible.
Stay tuned to the Lavender Art Collective Instagram account for a list of participating organizations.
