About this Event
This S.T.E.A.M.-based art class is designed for 2.5-5-year-olds, but welcomes children of all ages.
Finding activities for siblings with an age gap can be tricky. While older kids may already have a strong understanding of the math, science, engineering concepts our little ones will be learning, having fun is crucial for children (and adults) of all ages. Children as old as 10 have attended and had just as much fun as preschool aged kids. All I ask is that children older than the rest treat younger kids gently and respectfully- which has always been the case so far!
During the summer months, your favorite places to bring baby likely have reduced hours in order to host a summer camp for school-aged children. Having some structure in your day, an activity planned by someone else, and some time around other grownups is super important for parents of very little ones! Come let your kiddo explore some craft materials while you catch up with neighborhood parents. Be sure to bring a hat/ sunshade, or follow your pediatrician's summer fun reccomendations.
Start your week off with a laid-back art class in the park with your little one! Each class has a weekly theme, such as the ocean, construction, or changing seaasons. We'll start out with some coloring while settlilng in and waiting for eveyone to arrive. Next, we'll work on the first craft of the day and learn the S.T.E.A.M. principles behind it. Then, we'll take a "brain break" where children can choose to listen to a story that aligns with the theme of the day or to play freely for 5-10 minutes. Last, create our second project of the day and head off when the children are ready.
