About this Event

CPFT Mental Health Film Club presents: Lars and the Real Girl. A 2007 comedy-drama film that tells a heartfelt story about loneliness, community, and compassion. Lars Lindstrom (played by Ryan Gosling), a kind-hearted but painfully shy and socially awkward young man who lives alone in a converted garage next to his brother and sister-in-law's home. Struggling to form real human connections due to past trauma, he orders a life-sized, anatomically correct doll (a "RealDoll") from the internet. He introduces the doll to his family and the community as his real girlfriend. The film explores how we understand and support people through adversity.

The event will be helfd at Emannuel College Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 11th February with all donations going to CPFT's charity Head to Toe.
