NDOMBOLO:
Ndombolo is a genre of dance and music originating in the Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩, in central Africa. The style became widespread in the mid-1990s, dominating dance floors in central, eastern, and Western Africa! It inspired many other dance styles and artist on the world! Colosal grew up with Ndombolo as a big part of he’s culture, family and everyday life in DR Congo.
In This workshop Colosal will drive you through Ndombolo foundations and grooves as the first workshop and the second workshop will be on dive deep into steps to get the understanding of beyond steps layed history and expressions. Most importantly celebrating the culture and having fun. Colosal will provide you the dopest Ndombolo songs and the best Ndombolo steps that will make your move and feel good within yourself.
We will guide a constructive talk about the culture and community and finish the day with a blast of Ndombolo jam with no choreographies needed only steps and grooves.
FAMILY JAM:
Family Jam is a dance workshop for the whole family! For all the family member from 0-99 years where we focus on having family TIME with good music and moves and laughter. As a father of two myself, me and my family love to dance at home almost everyday to give our children a good time 😃 and to do something fun together as a family - and thats the reason why family deserves a class to dance together, to ENJOY and LAUGH and DANCE together with your family. We promise positive energy, it will be good for your soul and a good way to make memories with your fam!
Dance style will be a mix of afro: Ndombolo.
No experience of any of those Dance style needed, you can come as you are and it will be much fun.
Everyone is welcome and aleast one parent together with a kid to join the jam it can be mom or dad or grandparents. Minimum one parent/adult pr. theirs kids. Me myself I will bring my wife, my 5 years old and my 7 month baby to the family jam 😃 I promise you good vibes only. Im looking forward to dance with y all!
ABOUT COLOSAL:
Colosal is a professional dancer, choreographer and dance teacher from DR Congo in central Africa. He is originally from DR Congo, where he grew up dancing. Here he has danced in La Folie Crew from 2005-2017. He has worked as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for 19 years. He specializes in afro dance and break dance(breaking). On a daily basis, he works in Copenhagen with everything from teaching dance at various dance programs and dance schools, where he has, among other things, 4 crews, - to theater, where he choreographs performances within hip hip and afro, - to performance, battles and music videos (including ICEKIID, Yemi Alade NI, Mims US, Singuila FR, Travis Scot US,Ternet Ninja ) and more.
