Join David O'Brien, Director of Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Services at Yorktown Family Services and Lauren and Jeanette Manning, co-authors of "Walking Away from Hate: Our journey through extremism" a memoir recounting Lauren's descent into white supremacy at the age of eighteen, as they discuss radicalization and how it affects Canadian families today.Lauren will share her story along with insights gained in her work as an Exit Specialist while Jeanette will discuss the effects of Lauren's radicalization on their family. David will offer a glimpse into his work supporting radicalized individuals and their families, and together, they will offer tips for keeping your child out a recruiters' hands, the signs parents and caregivers should watch for, what to do if you suspect your loved one is involved in extremism and how to survive the ever-changing face of hate in Canada.
