St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church invites you to a special Advent and Christmas concert: “One Faith – Many Voices: Christmas in Ukraine”Join us for an evening of sacred music drawn from the Christian Slavic tradition. A quartet of professional singers led by Dr. Donald Meineke, Artistic Director of Choral Arts Philadelphia, will present music of the season both old and new in English, Ukrainian, and Church Slavonic.
🎵 THE PROGRAM: The concert will feature:
Part I: A musical tribute to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of our parish.
Part II: Byzantine and Znamenny Chants reflecting the Nativity.
Part III: Traditional Ukrainian Christmas carols and works by composers Maia Aprahamian and Myroslav Skoryk.
Part IV: Choral prayers for peace, including Bortniansky’s "Beneath Thy Compassion" and Lysenko’s "Prayer for Ukraine."
🍷 RECEPTION: A post-concert reception will be held in the Parish House (871 N 24th St.) to meet the singers and enjoy light refreshments.
🎟️ TICKETS: $15 at the door.
