“Knead” a great way to spend your day? Join us for a community art gathering full of Indigenous creativity, delicious food, & live music. After exploring the incredible work of the carvers in the Katsina Marketplace, stick around to spend quality time together with hands-on art activities, delicious treats, and moments that really rise to the occasion at a Community Art Gathering.
Starting at 11 a.m., guests are invited to join us on the Heard Museum grounds for fresh and delicious Frybread from local food vendors. Plus, stamp your own bandanas and enjoy plenty of opportunities to relax, get creative, and connect as a community.
Around noon, we’re rolling out the red carpet for a vibrant community Fashion Show in celebration of the Blue Bird exhibition. Come ready to show off your most creative, stylish, or playful flour-sack inspired fashion.
Near 3 p.m., the afternoon wraps up with a concert by legendary artist Keith Secola, a 7X Native American Music Award winner known for blending humor, storytelling and community spirit — and hits like Frybread and NDN Kars, where a little grease helps keep things rolling.
The museum, Café, Cantina, Shop and bookstore will be open throughout the event. Make sure to try some Prickly Pear Lemonade. Come hungry, bring your friends and family, and enjoy an afternoon at the Heard!
