“Knead” a great way to spend your day? Join us for a community art gathering full of Indigenous creativity, delicious food, & live music. After exploring the incredible work of the carvers in the Katsina Marketplace, stick around to spend quality time together enjoying hands-on art activities, delicious treats, and moments that really rise to the occasion.
Guests can stamp their own bandanas and enjoy fresh Fry Bread, with plenty of opportunities to relax, create and connect. Around 3 p.m., the afternoon wraps up with a concert by legendary artist Keith Secola, a 7X Native American Music Award winner known for blending humor, storytelling and community spirit — and for hits like “NDN Cars,” where a little grease helps keep things rolling. Inspired by the Blue Bird exhibition, guests are invited — and encouraged — to show off their best flour sack–inspired fashions in a community Fashion Show.
The museum, Café, Cantina, Shop and bookstore will be open throughout the event. Make sure to try some Prickly Pear Lemonade. Come hungry, bring your friends and family, and enjoy an afternoon at the Heard!
