About this Event
In this workshop, educators, caretakers, and creative community members will gather to learn the art of handmade bookbinding in a hands-on, creativity-sparking, restorative environment.
During our time together, participants will be guided step-by-step through beginner-friendly bookbinding techniques as we create a personalized journal from start to finish. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind journal you crafted yourself—plus the inspiration and confidence to continue journaling at home and share the practice with the young people in your life, if you so choose.
Along the way, we’ll explore how journaling can be more than just writing—it can be a reflective, grounding practice and a powerful tool for self-expression and connection. Through guided prompts and optional sharing, we’ll experiment with new ways of engaging with our thoughts and stories. We’ll also share ideas for bringing journaling into classrooms, after-school programs, and community spaces as a way to support creativity, emotional expression, and meaning-making.
