About this Event
Who is fine art for, and how are you allowed to talk about it? Armed with only a sense of humor and curiosity, Sammy Anzer and guest comedian Kate McLachlan team up with MCA Denver to laugh and learn about fine art. Comedians Talk Art Tour is a unique blend of art and comedy. At MCA only, join us for a hilarious exploration of the latest exhibitions. This event will include a tour, a comedy show, and a to-go craft.
*Please note, there are two separate tour groups for this event due to gallery capacity. Be sure to purchase the ticket for your desired time slot at checkout. Both groups meet in the rooftop cafe for the comedy show and everyone will receive a to-go craft.
About the Comedians
Sammy Anzer:
Rooster magazine says, “Anzer’s performances blend joy with contemplation, and his insightful societal commentary inspires reflection and lifts up the room.” Sammy has written for Kevin Hart’s LOL Network and caught ZIWE's interest for an interview. Recently, he was named a Breakout Comedian of the Year in a competition hosted by Deon Cole, his album hit #1 on iTunes, and he made his debut at The Apollo. His web series Comedians Talk Art—featured in The Denver Post—uses humor to make fine art accessible, and because of that, he became the first comedian ever to receive the RINO Arts Grant. At the end of it all, Sammy has a simple goal: making people laugh and changing the world.
Kate McLachlan:
Kate is a comic who lives in Denver, Colorado. She is the co-creator of the acclaimed show Dyketopia and is a regular performer at Denver’s Comedy Works. But wait, there’s more! She has opened for nationally touring comics such as Bob the Drag Queen and Maria Bamford, and she acted normally around both of them. She can't wait to meet your dog!
BK Sharad:
BK Sharad is an up-and-coming comedian from the mean streets of Boulder, Colorado. You, of course, know him from his work as Jay Chandrasekhar’s body double in an as-of-yet unaired TV pilot, but he is also making a name for himself in standup. His positive outlook shines through his jokes about the world and his experiences in it as a former emo, hockey-playing, first-generation Indian millennial.
