Join us at our next “Come and Try” Event and discover the joy of cycling together! Are you interested in the benefits of cycling but find riding challenging due to a long-term health condition or disability? Come and experience riding as a stoker on the back of a tandem, no previous experience needed.
Or are you an experienced cyclist looking for a fresh challenge? We’re also looking for confident riders to become pilots, leading the way and supporting others on group rides.
This friendly and welcoming session is a great chance to:
✨ Meet our club members (stokers and pilots)
✨ Learn about our group rides and activities
✨ Get an introduction to tandem cycling
✨ Have a go yourself, this applies to riders 18 years and over.
The event takes place at the bottom of Pipe Lane, Portobello on the Prom.
The 'Come & Try' is part of a wider event run by Porty Community Energy and Equal Footing Porty called the Weird Wheels Extravaganza. This starts with a Critical Mass Ride at 11am (all cyclists welcome), followed by cycling related information and activities from approximately 12pm onwards, including an opportunity to try a variety of bikes, cargo bikes, side-by-side bikes (from the Thistle Foundation), hand cycles and more. There will be some bike games and races and a mobility aid assault course.
See you there!
