Colleen
Die Kompositionen von Colleen, auch bekannt als Multiinstrumentalistin Cécile Schott, sind ebenso reichhaltig und vielfältig wie präzise. Jedes ihrer Alben wird durch eine vorher festgelegte, eigene Instrumentierung und bestimmte Parameter geprägt – darunter Werke, die vollständig mit Spieluhren, Taschensynthesizern oder barocken Saiteninstrumenten komponiert wurden.
Ihr kommendes Album Libres antes del final greift nach Hoffnung und dem Wunsch, noch vor dem Ende des eigenen Lebenszyklus von unnötigem Leid und schädlichen Gedanken befreit zu werden.
Schott komponierte und spielte Libres auf dem Moog Matriarch ein und stellte den Puls, die treibende, blubbernde Energie und die ständige Bewegung in den Mittelpunkt. Anschließend reampte sie die Musik an einem ihrer Lieblingsorte in Barcelona, der Casa Montjuic, um das Gefühl von Bewegung zu verstärken. Das Reamping verleiht dem Album eine buchstäbliche Körperlichkeit: Sorgfältig platzierte Mikrofone, darunter der berühmte Neumann-KU100-Binauralkopf, fangen sowohl den Klang der Beschallungsanlage als auch die Akustik des Raums ein.
Midori Hirano
Midori Hirano ist eine in Berlin lebende japanische Musikerin, Komponistin und Soundkünstlerin. Auf Basis ihrer klassischen Klavierausbildung und erweitert durch Elektronik und Field Recordings schafft sie immersive Klanglandschaften, in denen akustische Intimität auf experimentelle Abstraktion trifft.
Ihre Soloalben bei Labels wie Sonic Pieces, Daisart und Dauw haben ihre unverwechselbare Stimme etabliert, während ihr Pseudonym MimiCof rhythmischere und experimentellere Territorien erkundet. Mit der Zeit haben sich diese Ansätze zu einer einheitlichen künstlerischen Sprache unter ihrem eigenen Namen vereinigt. Sie hat europaweit performt und mit Künstler*innen wie Hprizm (Anti Pop Consortium), Ilpo Väisänen (Pan Sonic), CoH, Atsuko Hatano, Brueder Selke sowie dem von Gudrun Gut geleiteten Frauenkollektiv Monika Werkstatt zusammengearbeitet.
Ihr neues Soloalbum wird am 20. Februar 2026 bei Thrill Jockey erscheinen.

Colleen
The compositions of Colleen, aka multi-instrumentalist Cécile Schott, are as richly varied as they are precise. Each of Colleen’s albums is shaped by her predetermined distinct instrumentation and parameters, including works composed entirely of music boxes, pocket synthesizers, and baroque stringed instruments.
Her upcoming album Libres antes del final reaches for the hope and desire to be truly freed from unnecessary suffering and harmful thoughts before reaching the end of one’s life cycle.
Schott composed and performed Libres on the Moog Matriarch, centering the record on a pulse-driven, bubbling energy with constant momentum. She then reamped the music in one of her favorite venues in Barcelona, Casa Montjuic, accentuating the album’s sense of movement. The reamping process adds a literal physicality to the album, as carefully chosen and placed microphones (including the famous Neumann KU100 binaural head) capture both the venue’s PA sound itself and the venue’s acoustics.
Midori Hirano
Midori Hirano is a Japanese musician, composer, and sound artist based in Berlin. Rooted in classical piano and expanded through electronics and field recordings, she creates immersive soundscapes where acoustic intimacy meets experimental abstraction.
Her solo albums on labels including Sonic Pieces, Daisart and Dauw have established her distinctive voice, while her alias MimiCof explores more rhythmic and experimental territories. Over time, these approaches have converged into a unified artistic language under her own name. She has performed widely across Europe and collaborated with artists such as Hprizm (Anti Pop Consortium), Ilpo Väisänen (Pan Sonic), CoH, Atsuko Hatano, Brueder Selke and the female collective Monika Werkstatt led by Gudrun Gut.
Her new solo album will be released via Thrill Jockey on the 20th of February, 2026.
