Collectivity doesn’t play groove music so much as activate it. Their live performances move like a conversation between muscle memory and curiosity, deep rhythmic foundations opening into psychedelic detours, then snapping back into focus with precision and intent. Built for movement but powered by listening, the band blends jazz-rooted improvisation, soulful melody, and modern textures into sets that feel spontaneous without ever losing their center.
That spirit defined their debut release “Off the Grid” and continues through more recent work, including “Oakland Sessions” and the single “Microdose” which point toward a bolder, more dance-forward evolution. With performances across Asia, Europe, and the U.S., including opening for Larry Graham at Shanghai Arena and featured festival appearances, Collectivity brings groove-driven exploration through collective improvisation.
What started as four students in Chico, CA jamming together in the midst of a pandemic quickly transformed into the touring powerhouse known as Blü Egyptian. This no-holds-barred jamband has ingrained themselves in the West Coast scene with their upbeat signature blend of Rock, Funk, Reggae, Bluegrass, and Electronica, creating unique segues from catchy original tunes to timeless covers. By playing over 500 shows in just five years, Blü Egyptian has caught the attention of major festivals and national touring acts, propelling them into renowned venues across the coast. Just like the world around us, each show is constantly evolving and the only way to truly experience it is live in person!
