Join us Thursday, August 21st to hear (and tell!) stories on the theme:
Surprise!
Whether you like them or fear them, surprises are everywhere. Think surprise party, surprise train delay, surprise free cannoli, surprise wasps' nest, surprise admission of love. We never really know what's going to happen, and who would want to? (Well maybe you, and that's ok too.) Come tell us about a time you were surprised -- a little, or a lot -- or come be surprised by everyone else's stories.
Doors open at 19:30, stories start at 20:00.
Entry is sliding scale 5 - 10€.**
**We will never turn anyone away because of money! Our soli price is 2€.
A (surprise) note from your host: Club Motte, in its current form, will end in November 2025 -- 12 years after it started in a studio apartment on Weserstrasse. It's the end of an era! But there are still 4 more events (including August) where you can come and tell your story (or come and listen). Don't miss it!

What is this thing?
Club Motte is a live storytelling event where everyone is invited to tell a true story from their life inspired by the night’s theme. No need to prepare in advance -- we like our stories fresh! And there’s no voting and no winner. Just a group of people ready to listen, and a few who have something to say.
Do I have to tell a story?
Nope, you just have to listen to the stories other people tell. But if you decide at any point throughout the night that you DO want to tell a story, you can!
