About this Event
The Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation proudly presents Clinical Trials, Trust & Our Health: A Conversation for Women of Color, an intentional and timely gathering designed to address one of the most critical gaps in healthcare today: trust, access, and representation in clinical research.
Held in recognition of Clinical Trials Awareness Month, this event creates space for honest dialogue around the historical and present-day realities that shape how women of color engage with clinical trials. Through guided conversation, participants will explore the importance of representation in research, the barriers that continue to limit participation, and how trust can be rebuilt through education, transparency, and community-centered care.
This is more than a discussion, it is an opportunity to empower women with knowledge, amplify lived experiences, and foster a deeper understanding of how clinical trials impact prevention, treatment, and long-term health outcomes. By centering the voices of women of color, the conversation aims to bridge the gap between medical advancement and community trust.
