About this Event

We invite you to a 'Citizens for Culture roadshow' workshop at Knowle West Media Centre, led by LaToyah McAllister-Jones, Lead Facilitator for Citizens for Culture, members of the Citizens’ Assembly, and Martin Couzins, Insight and Learning Lead.

Did you know there is a new regional plan for arts and culture that has been co-created by people from across the West of England? It is a community-led vision for the future of culture and creativity, shaped by 51 members of the West of England Citizens’ Assembly. The plan sets out practical actions rooted in shared priorities and lived experience. You might already have been part of it, or this might be your first encounter – now is your chance to help bring the plan to life and put it into action.

Are you a community-based arts, media or cultural organisation? An arts practitioner or grassroots group working in and with communities? A community centre who supports arts activities, but wouldn’t call themselves an arts organisation? If so, this event is for you.

It will take a collaborative approach to make the plan happen for real – so let’s get together and be part of shaping what’s next.

What to expect:

LaToyah will introduce the Citizens’ Cultural Plan, you will hear directly from Assembly Members about their experience and be able to ask questions about how the Citizens’ Assembly worked from their perspective. LaToyah will guide an open discussion exploring the plan’s key themes and facilitate exploration around how we can start putting this into action together. This is your chance to:

  • Hear what residents and communities across the West of England region are calling for
  • See where your work already aligns and where it could grow
  • Connect with others working creatively in different ways
  • Explore opportunities to collaborate and bring ideas to life

Come along, get involved, and help turn a shared vision into real change.

Places are free but limited so ideally no more than 2 participants per organisation/group if possible.
